To equip professionals with these vital skills, the PSIC has developed the Managing Risk on Snow Instructor Certification (MRS). This four-level online certification focuses on risk management and decision making in challenging mountain environments.

The certification is divided into four comprehensive e-learning courses, each offering 2-3 hours of engaging, hands-on education, practice, and real-world scenarios. Practical exercises and simulations are based on actual industry incidents and injuries, ensuring our training reflects the real challenges instructors face daily.

Purpose of the Level 1 Certification:
Level 1 of the MRS Instructor Certification introduces instructors to the essential risk management concepts, practices and criteria needed to deliver safe outcomes while teaching, coaching and guiding.
